Crime Awareness
Drug trends are changing rapidly across the world, and dangerous substances are spreading faster than ever before. Understanding the warning signs can help protect families, prevent overdoses, and save lives. Crime Stoppers programs around the globe encourage communities to anonymously report drug activity, trafficking, and overdose-related information to help prevent harm and support public safety.
Fentanyl
A powerful synthetic opioid, often hidden in counterfeit pills, powders, or mixed into other drugs without the user’s knowledge. Even a tiny amount can be fatal.
Possible signs of fentanyl exposure or misuse:
- Difficulty staying awake or breathing
- Extreme drowsiness or “nod-offs”
- Pinpoint pupils
- Unresponsiveness
- Pale or bluish lips and nails
- Overdose occurring suddenly or without warning
Other Substances of Concern
While trends vary, many communities also struggle with:
- Cocaine
- Methamphetamine (Meth)
- Heroin
- LSD and hallucinogens
- PCP
- Depressants (Tranquilizers, Counterfeit Pills, Benzodiazepines)
